Kalon Women welcomes editorial submissions from freelance writers and experts in their field. We are looking for new, unpublished, non-fiction material that is for or about women over forty. Diversity of subjects that reflect women forty plus and a variety of writing styles are invited.
We do not publish articles of any kind that are, slanderous, racist, pornographic nature or we consider in poor taste.
Include with each submission:
Contact information (name, address, phone, web address)
Also include a 50 word bio and byline. You can also include up to 3 resource links.
We will not include email addresses as they can be picked up by spammers.
A professional headshot minimum 150x 150 pixels must be submitted. No logos will replace a headshot.
Submission Requirements:
Must be an original article that you wrote. No ghost writings.
Your article must be informative and relevant to 40 plus women. Include tips, techniques, your expertise, strategies, case-studies.
We reserve the right to change the article, photos and graphics at our discretion. We also may not use the photos and graphics you supply with your article.
Your article must not be a sales or product advertisements, press release or self-promotion.
No caps in the title. Your Title MUST Be In Upper and Lower Case Letters.
No quotes around the title.
No period at the end of the title.
Title and article must be flush to the left.
No formatting. We only accept articles in text format. This can be done in word or notepad and saved as text only, or any other text only editor. Keep in mind that anything other than plain text may be returned to you.
Articles must be 200 to 1000 words.
Supplying Artwork or Graphics
If you supply photos or graphics with your article please make sure you own the copyright, or they are royalty-free .
Format for photos and graphics should be submitted as jpg‚ 2550 pixels x 3300 pixels (8.5 x 10 inches) Large files required for possible full page layout.
No more than 4 active links for 1000 words and 2 for 500 words or less.
Include a valid URL
Example

We do not allow a link to an auto download. It must go to a resource page or your web page.
Videos Files
We will be including videos in articles. Formats accepted are .flv format and Windows Media.
Please include the link to your video.
Example: http://www.your-web-site.com/name-of-folder/name-of-video.flv
We reserve the right not to use the supplied video link.
